I'm injured.
There, I said it. I've been denying it for almost two weeks now (and as my dad always says, denial isn't just a river in Egypt). The injury isn't bad and it really doesn't hurt too much, but something isn't right with my achilles/calf. It feels tight and knotted; almost like it is ready to tear at some moment. I don't want to continue running and wait for that moment. I'll be taking at least this week off to make sure it gets better. In the meantime I think I'll try and do some weights and much-needed core strengthening.
Today's word is relevant to my blogging activity. The word is reciprocity and I'm guilty of showing a lack of it. I am very busy at work at the moment and I haven't been able to return many of the comments on my blog or keep up with reading everyone's blogs on bloglines. So sorry for my lack of reciprocity.
rec·i·proc·i·ty ( P ) Pronunciation Key n. pl. rec·i·proc·i·ties

achilles tendonitis?
Oh no Dave :-( Are you going to see a physio just in case? I had achilles tendonitis a few years ago and was stupid enough to ignore if for way too long. I ended up being totally out of action for almost two months.
And if it makes you feel any better I'm about to 'come out' about my injury.
Tesso is right. Don't ignore the problem. However a little break is always a good cure even if it gets the runners very angry!
I've been reading just not commenting. I feel like I have nothing of value to say in comments lately. Uggh.
Same type of feeling in my calf since Sunday. Haven't run since but am very tempted today.
Take care of your injury, man. There seems to be a lot of achilles problems on the RBF list, of late.
Ah, the calcanius tendon. Originates from gastrocnemius, soleius, and plantaris muscles. EEEEeeeek! Help, school is out, but I can't turn it off! *runs screaming from the room*
I'm in de Nile of reciprocity.
Must be the red shoe curse!
